Alaskan Klee Kai Characteristics
The full facial mask is the Alaskan Klee Kai's most distinctive characteristic. Standards for this breed are based on the Siberian Husky, but there are distinctive physical differences in that the Alaskan Klee Kai has ashorter snout, larger ears, and higher tail set.
Alaskan Klee Kai Temperament
The Alaskan Klee Kai is a highly intelligent, curious and active dog. They tend to be standoffish and wary around unfamiliar individuals, and therefore make excellent watchdogs. The Alaskan Klee Kai’s inherently reserved nature among strangers necessitates continual socialization throughout their lives. The Alaskan Klee Kai is a moderately active dog. This breed has an instinctive prey-drive and unless properly introduced and raised with smaller animals, like cats, birds and hamsters, they will hunt and kill them. They require supervision around smaller children as they do not tolerate abuse, but make great family pets nonetheless.

The Alaskan Klee Kai requires frequent brushing and an occasional bath. They are naturally clean dogs and spend hours grooming themselves. Relative to other breeds, the Alaskan Klee Kai has been remarkably free of genetic defects.

This dog breed has a double coat. The Alaskan Klee Kai has a distinctive furry appearance. The fur is heavier at the ruff of the neck and on the tail. They are average shedders and shed their coat twice a year.
